Getting Host Monitor to Check process on remote machines

Post by sgronow »

I have spent count less hours try to get Host Monitor to monitor a process on a remote machine (or 2) . I get an error of 301 can not retrieve information. Yet on other machines it's fine.

I have tried using RMA and get a simlar result.

Does anyone have any ideas ??

I am using Hostmonitor 5.38

Thanks

In order to provide access to performance counters Windows requires:
1) log in with administrator account
2) Remote Registry Service should be started on remote system
3) RPC service should be started as well
4) perfproc.dll must be enabled on remote system

Microsoft provides "Extensible Counter List" utility: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
This utility displays list of DLLs that are used to support Performance Counters, using the utility you may disable/enable specific DLLs.
Could you check status of PerfProc.DLL?

If you are using agent that is installed on target system, conditions #1 and #2 are not necessary
