Hi!
I need a metode to monitor if there is another domains on my net - that's an indication of the fact that there is some machine connected to the network that is not included in my main domain.
The reason that I want this alert is the fact that I have five locations and approx. 45 home locations and I have no means of blocking for non-authorized machines - if a machine is connected to the LAN containing virus, spyware or some hacker software it can be spread to the entire domain. On machines contained in the domain I have the possibilities to control the antivirus / antispyware and so on.
Mayby a way to do it is to look at the 1Eh, 1Ch, 1Bh and 00h records in WINS... Just an idea...
Kind Regards
Mogge
Domain monitoring
Some "WINS scan" test method that should scan check all names for some specific attributes? I am not sure we can implement this in nearest versions
PS
I don't think your question relates to "Problem and Bugs" group. You should use "Installation and Configuration" or "Wish list" groups for such requests.
Use "Problem and Bugs" group when HostMonitor does not work correctly

Alex

Hi!
Concerning choise of group - ok!
Mayby my question could be solved by a form of script - the only thing is that I don't know how to "program" it. How do you find a way to get this information thru script?
Well... never mind... mayby I should use my time on securing the domain with encryption and IPSEC securing communication... mayby it would be the right way...
