RMA: 301 - Access is denied.

Post by donk3 »

Hello,

I've recently changed the admin password on several servers we manage via HostMonitor. We use the "connect as..." method to authenticate to these servers to check service status since the machines the RMA agent is on are not joined to the remote domains. I changed the password in each test's properties to match the new admin passwords we've set (using the DOMAIN\Username format as before), but all service tests now report "RMA: 301 - Access denied". Is there something I'm missing, or does some other setting need to be changed somewhere? I've rebooted all involved machines (servers and RMA machines and the master HM machine on our side), but that didn't resolve the issue.

We're using HostMonitor 4.70 and RMA agent 2.02, attempting to access Windows 2000 and 2003 servers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So, test it performed by RMA? RMA is started as service? Under some non "local system" account?
Have you changed password that is specified for service (Control Panel->Services->"KS Remote Monitoring Agent"->Properties->"Log on")?

Regards

Yep, it turns out the service was set to log on as "Local System". Changing that fixed the problem. Thanks!
