HTTP Request not working?

Post by UKortkamp »

Hello everyone,
We are running HostMon 14.28 on a Windows Server 2016 (latest PatchBuild).

In some tests we have defined (among other things) an HTTP request as an action. This HTTP request switches a smart socket, which resets the tested device.

This HTTP request no longer seems to be executed:

- manual call of the URL in the browser - no problem
- in HostMon_SysLog_xxx the other actions appear (New TestInterval/Telegram message/mail etc.) but no reference to an HTTP request.

I currently have no idea how I could narrow this down further.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance

1st step - check action properties. May be there time restrictions, may be "start conditions" do not allow to start action (e.g. may be it should be started after 3rd consecutive bad test result), may be "Quick log: store action results" option disabled and so on

Hi Alex,
thanks for your answer. Already checked ALL
- Telegram Message same Interval as HTTP-Request -> Telegram works, HTTP not

I have now installed WGET on the HM server and swapped the HTTP request in the action profile for an "external program call". The DOS batch then called up starts WGet with parameters and it works.

Working workaround - but the question remains why an HTTP request no longer works?

Kind regards

Sorry, we cannot say anything for sure until we see your settings and logs.
As I see action works fine and I see records in Quick Log pane and in HostMonitor system log file.

Hi Alex,
"this action" was my last task before my vacation (which then also works with the workaround).

When I'm back from vacation, I'll take up the topic again, document it in detail and get back to you in the forum.

Until then, thank you very much for your quick answers.

Best regards
Uwe
