SendSMS action : Is there a SMS number limit per event ?

Post by SG-SEP1D »

Hi,
Sorry for my bad english.

We encountered a problem with the SendSMS action.
We are doing multiple tests, who send SMS in case of bad response.
Yesterday, several of these tests have given bad response but only 12 SMS were send.

In "SMSlog", there is a line for each: "Message has been added to queue"
In "Latest Events" view, there is also a line for each "has been Passed to Control Module"
But only 12 SMS... Honestly, it’s a massive request : almost 271 SMS in 2-3 minutes.

There is a maximum of SMS at the same time ? It’s a possible saturation of the SMS controle module ?
Another question: It’s possible to empty the "SMS queue" of all the SMS not sent ?

Thank you

No errors in the log?
Then it sounds like some service provider limitation.
Can you ask your cell phone provider?

Not sure why do you need this.
HostMonitor does not keep message for long time. Messages removed automatically.

Hi,
No errors in the log, all lines "has been Passed to Control Module" but only 12 lines "SMS to XXXXXXXXXXX has been sent". It's normal ?
Also we will ask the cell phone provider.

For empty the "SMS queue", It's just curiosity...
Thank you for your response

Well, this is not a perfect world - usualy GSM modems and SMS service does not provide any useful diagnostics. For many different problems GSM modem may return just "error" without any description or SMS can be rejected by provider... e.g. SMS/sec limitation to protect customers from spammers.
