I'm considering the hostmonitor solution as our main monitor system...
Is it posible to add extra "layers" on the test result
eg.
1 SQL server + 2 web applications running on 2 different webservers. The web applications are depending on that SQL server is running.
Goal:
A dashboard/map/view that shows status on each webapplication - based on test results for 1SQL + 1 WEBserver.
I doen't want to create double tests for the SQL server
Is it posible ?
reuse test result - multiple views
Not sure I understand.
How many test items you will create?
Are you going to setup 2 URL tests to check web applications?
if test fails because of non-expected answer from web application, then you know there is a problem with web server (No answer test status) or SQL server (Bad content or Bad test status - I don't know what exactly reply you will get from your web server)?
or may be you are going to create 3 tests?
e.g. one ODBC test item to check SQL server, 2 tests to check web applications? Then you can make URL tests dependant on ODBC test
