Much more modern and visual appealing Web service.
Hi,
I just lost a customer that was about to sign a deal where we monitor their entire network, only because they thought Hostmonitor's web-interface was ugly..
They liked OpManager´s and GFI´s web-interfaces much better. Even though HostMon provided more control, more tests, cheaper, better support and so on..
The decision came from those "higher up" that likes to have nice graphs, circles and other blingbling on a large flatscreen on a wall somewhere so they can show their customers that they have control or something.
And as far as the web-interface being ugly I can only agree. It looks like something from the early 90s.
OpManager for instance uses a mixture of live graphs with lots of modern techniques to allow a non-teccie to see stats.
I assume that this request has been asked lots of times, so do you have anything on the timeframe to update and modernize the web-interface?
It´s REALLY needed!

Probably we should increase priority for this task (new Web Service)
On the other hand, I am not sure how you can losd a customer if your license does not allow you to provide monitoring services for 3rd party. You do not have SPL license, do you?
License agreement:

That sound like a great idea with updating the web service
And with regards to license issues: In this case the customer wanted to own their own monitoring solution so they would have bought Hostmonitor themselves from you.
Then we would have had an agreement with the customer to access their hostmonitor server to monitor the monitoring since the lack the skills.

Hi Alex,
I love HostMonitor and we use it since 2005.
The tool is very flexible and stable and your support is unbeatable.
Today we stay @211.057.232 performed tests, Started at 09.01.2013!
But my greatest wish is also a modernized web-interface inclusive history charts.
The actual design is simply not more up to date.
It's a little bit embarrassing to present the web-interface to my colleagues and my boss. You know these days a cool GUI is important than the functionality
It would be great if you can realize this wish till end of this year...
Regards
Enrico

Hi Alex
I echo what rc has posted above - the charts would be most helpful for me, the current history charts are exceptionally difficult to read - they are too small and the data point are hard to read.
It would be also exceptionally helpful if it had better trend analysis. You currently have a prediction for next 7 days, but going further into the future would be helpful (even as far as years).
I look forward to seeing what is in 9.70!

+1 for UI improvements and better web interface!
You may also take a look at your web site design, since it is the place undecided visitors read about the product prior to making a decision to try it. There is alot of useful information there but it is, ummm, not up to today's design standards. Reminds me about Microsoft FrontPage
Peace!

+1 for improved web service and history graphs.
The best developers care more about what is on the inside then the outside. I believe the reason is they are more left brain (logic) where designers with artistic ability are more right brain (creativity). Only a balanced brain can do both very well.
Me left brain cause I suck at design.

+1 from me, too!
I think from an admins point of view the gui is pretty much OK.
And I would never trade HM for anything else, just because of functionality and support.
But we also would like the possibility of creating great looking dashboards on 60 inch screen showing off our achievements
Like these examples from the much more expensive and/or much less functional packages:
