So there is an internal check within Hostmonitor to count its threads ?
And it has a limit ?
Yes, I was talking about this feature last days. HostMonitor pauses monitoring because "sees" too many started threads, it wants to wait until test probes finish before starting new test probes.

We changed some code and make more strict checks in version 8.77 so you should have the same problem with version 8.86, this problem should not be related to 9.00 update

Anyway, if I am right, then the following update should help:
http://www.ks-soft.net/download/hm932d.zip
- unzip the file,
- replace hostmon.exe module,
- add IgnoreTotalThreads1=1 line into [Misc] section of hostmon.ini file and start HostMonitor.

This makes sense. I hope RC experience problem caused by the same counter, not some totally different...

Hi Alex,

Those are great news!

I have just installed the new hotfix-version 9.32d also. But with me it always takes 4 to 5 days to freezing .

So we'll know in about 1 week the update also shows me the desired effect.

But I'm sure that it works because I exactly did the same symptoms as user "apaitoperations". I also have every time 1001 TTThreads in debuglog and only 25 threads in task manager...

So ever thank you for your great support.

Sorry it took so much time
One of the worse bug tracking cases in HostMonitor history. We wasted a lot of time looking into wrong direction.

And we still cannot reproduce the problem on our systems... but I hope we know what is wrong and this time we fixed the problem.
http://www.ks-soft.net/download/hm932e.zip - this version should work fine regardless of "IgnoreTotalThreads1" option. So you may disable this option and HostMonitor should work fine and control threads properly. I really hope...

Alex,
I would say:

I wait one week @v9.32d to see (I hope so) no freezing with enabled "IgnoreTotalThreads" option and if this works how expected I will try the new version v9.32e with extended :D thread control, Ok ?

Have a nice weekend

Hi Alex,

one week has now passed and the HostMonitor runs as on the first day!

I am now at 23 million tests without freeze :D

Now I want to see how long HostMonitor can really run.

...never change a running system

I'll report back next week

another strage thing

Post by apaitoperations »

Hello Alex,

Hostmonitor dooesnt freeze anymore and today we reached 66.000.000 Tests.

I tried to connect with RCC and when it wanted to retrieve the Test-List there came a popup : "Hostmonitor answer : out of memory" -> and disconnect

HM-Service is using 1,5 Gb memory.

I restarted the service and it worked again.

Is there another limit in HM ?

Could you please send detailed resource usage (handles, threads, private memory, user and GDI objects) to support@ks-soft.net?
Also, please send "Estimated workload" screen shot (Auditing Tool).
