MIB browser

Post by aicorda »

I append a mib file from ibm (to monitor server x3550) trough the mib browser. I see the new tests in the directory private -> enterprises -> ibm

When i try to add a snmp get test, i dont see my new added mib file in the the mib browser tree.

How is that possible?

New tests? Do you mean SNMP counters?

May be this problem relates to data redirection.
What Windows do you use?
UAC is enabled?

Windows Vista+ may pretend to allow applications write files to their familiar locations. But when you go to look for those files, you won't find them because Vista actually stores the files in a "Virtual Store" under the AppData store in your user folder.
So if you start application using diferent accounts, application will have access to different files without "knowing" this is different file.

I assume you run HostMonitor under admin account? Then start MIB Browser using the same account and append MIB file again.

Alex
