Connection error

Post by aicorda »

I have an active RMA (v. 3.7.4) on a windows server 2003.

When i try to connect to my hostmonitor server, i get a "connection error", HM is not connected.

But when i log my server(the hostmonitor server), i get a request from the rma. So they're connected to each other.

Does Hostmonitor have something to log?

Looks like, you forgot to enable Active RMA server. You may check this using HostMonitor menu "Options" -> "Active RMA Server".

You can see attempts of active RMA agent to connect to HostMonitor, however "connection error" means HostMonitor didn't accepted these connections.
You may check Active RMA connections status using HostMonitor menu "View" -> "Active RMA status..."

Sure, HostMonitor have several options for this (menu "Options" -> "Active RMA Server"):
"Record info about accepted connections"
"Record info about rejected connections"

Please check the manual or visit our web site for more information at:

Thx for the fast reply.

I just have another question. Is it possible that i have that problem because 2 rma's are trying to connect to my hostmonitor server with the same ip?

This will not make any problem.
Several active RMA agents can connect to HostMonitor with the same ip.

Also, you should check HostName/IP and Port, used by active RMA and HostMonitor.

Same IP is not a problem for Active RMA but you should not use the same name for 2 agents.
Also, please check RMA log files (by default located in the same folder where RMA is installed). Any errors?
