Hi,
Go to the AAction Profiles box and create a profile with >29 characters. The 30th+ characters are cut off.

For example: call it "012345678901234567890123456789"
The last "9" will be cut off.

I just used the above as an example of course. Any "real" name that you choose will be cut off.

The same goes to other windows, like: Reports Manager, Mail Profiles.

Of course. HostMonitor does not display very long names because it needs space for another action profiles/reports/etc. It uses 2-3 columns to display list of profiles.

You can set them in line instead of columns, with a scroll bar at the right of the screen.

This way you can have 40, 50 or even 60 characters.

In this case you will need more time to select appropriate action profile.

And in the current situation, if I have:

1) "Mail only myself, Danny, Ronald and Rodney"

And

2) "Mail only myself, Danny, Ronald"

They look the same....

Remove "only", change "myself" to "me" and it will look different

Are you seriously talking now? or sarcastic?
We always do everything what's possible to correct some bugs but we cannot make changes in interface or program's behavior for each customer. Because this program is not for 1 or 2 companies, its for thousands of clients.

That was sarcasm.

The funny thing is that if your FIRST response was what you wrote in your SECOND reply (above):
"We always do everything what's possible to correct some bugs but we cannot make changes in interface or program's behavior for each customer. Because this program is not for 1 or 2 companies, its for thousands of clients."...Then I would probably just have said..."OK. I understand".

I described a problem that I'm experiencing, and what you gave me was a work-around, not a solution.
Imagine that I'm a doctor and you come to me and tell me that your hand hurts, and as I reply I tell you..."well...either don't use it or use your other hand!".

It was an arrogant, hurting, smart-ass reply (pardon my French). Not something I would expect from a company that I paid good money for their software.

But...that's only me.

Thanks

I don't intend to.
I like the software.
It's good. It help me A LOT.

I only had a comment about the quality level of technical support.

I think it's time to show some courtesy to people who pay you, not just for the software, but for customer support as well.

Your reply was a bit rude in my opinion. That's all.

Thanks

Ok, ok. Probably I am wrong. But its hard to be a good guy when you have high temperature (probably grippe) and have to work.

There is update at http://www.ks-soft.net/download/hm369.zip. Replace exe module, add APColumns=1 line into [Misc] section of the hostmon.ini file and restart HostMonitor.
To change number of columns for another dialog windows use following variables:
RPColumns - report profiles
MPColumns - mail templates
CPColumns - color schemes
SPColumns - schedules

But if I die tomorrow, it will be your fault

IMHO: this topic should be in "Wish list" forum, not in "problems and bugs".

Indeed it is. KS-Soft gives the best support I have ever seen. Ever tried this with Microsoft???

I assume you like the hardway instead of the easy way. Make the beginning different and your all set....

Defiant!

Dont You *EVER* place questions about the quality level of technical support from Alex! HM is made for "many users" - not only "one user" who'll like a minor "nice to have" GUI change!

Is negative "courtesy" to give You a work-around? I really dont think soo....

I wont be rude... but hang around HM for a while, and You'll see WHY so many ppl. like - not only the software - but Alex as well!

Cheers,

Hans Mosegaard
