RCC don't reconnect to HostMonitor

Post by Vernik77 »

RCC 3.32 lose connection to HostMonitor 8.32 at least two times at one hour and don't reconnect despite the option "Try to reconnect automatically" is enabled.
Why connection is lost so often? And why RCC don't reconnect to HM?

P.S No network problem between RCC и HM.

We cannot reproduce the problem. RCC reconnects to HostMonitor when we drop connection.

Are you sure there is no network problem? Are you running HostMonitor and RCC on the same system?
Do you have installed some antivirus monitors, personal firewall, content monitoring software? Non stanard winsock components?
What Windows do you use? Service Pack?

May be timeout specified for RCC is too short?

When connection drop, rcc don't reconnect automatically and we see such window Image
If we click "Yes" button nothing occurs. If press "No" button this window dissapears.

HostMonitor and RCC is diffirent system. Both System are Windows Server 2003 SP2 with installed Symantec Antivirus. There are no firewall and content monitoring software.

I set maximal timeout-36000 sec.

There is no big broblem that RCC lose connection. There is big problem that it not reconnect after this, because we use RCC on 42' monitor and our helpdesk must see HM message online 24 hours per day.

P.S
I sent several letter on support@ks-soft.net week ago from vernigora#crystals dot ru I still have not received any answer. [/img]

I assume RCC is trying to reconnect but cannot establish connection. Then it shows "Connection lost" error.

Symantec often leads to various problems. Could you please try to disable or uninstall it?

I think max possible timeout - 300 sec

We bought the HostMonitor from the SoftLine (http://www.softline.ru/)
We can send you all documents which confirm purchase.

Thanks. It works. I set wrong timeout option.

One more question about RCC.
Is it possible to make that wakeup window of "play sound" action closed after some amount of time in RCC session.

There is no such option. When you use "Wake up" option somebody must really wake up and click the button.
If you need sound alert as polite reminded of the problem, I would suggest to disable "Show WakeUp window..." option and use "Repeat: until status changes" option instead.
