All questions related to installations, configurations and maintenance of Advanced Host Monitor (including additional tools such as RMA for Windows, RMA Manager, Web Servie, RCC).
I want to be able to have a test that shows if an active RMA is working/connecting or not. Does the active RMA send a regular heartbeat that can be monitored?
That way I can know that if RMA related tests start failing whether or not the RMA itself or the connection to the RMA is the problem.
I did some searching and read the user guide but couldn't find what I am looking for.

Yes, it sends..
If you need special test for RMA, you may setup "Ping localhost" test. If agent is working this test will show "Host is alive" status, otherwise status will be Unknown.
Is there a way to make this test return as BAD when the response is unknown other than using some kind of expression with a custom condition under the alert action?? I seem to be finding myself creating lots of different alert actions to cover all the options.
OMG never mind... I just found a whole section of the Test dialogue that I had no idea existed; the optional status processing. Now something I was told earlier about having a Warning status make sense (I must not have read the post fully!). Not sure why this section is hidden by default, been using HM for a few weeks and only just found it
