Fyi.. I just upgraded to 7.90a in production today, needed the new things on Jabber.. No problem in upgrading, and no problem in remotely upgrading several RMA-active at the same time...

Item #9: undocumented option allows you to change titles for comment lines displayed by “Comment” dialog (it can be called from Test Properties dialog). You may add line like AlternativeCommentTitles=address;phone;admin_name;admin_e-mail into [Misc] section of hostmon.ini file and restart HostMonitor. Then Comments dialog will display “address” instead of %CommentLine1%, “phone” instead of %CommentLine2%, “admin name” instead of %CommentLine3% and so on.

Please make backup copy of all configuration files (HML and LST), just in case

Hi Alex,
This version is not available now..

Just installed 8.01c, and added this line into [Misc]
AlternativeCommentTitles=Nummer1

But it stille shows up as %CommentLine1%

Any ideas..?

Cannot reproduce the problem. Have you restarted HostMonitor after changing hostmon.ini?

Update: It works using AHM directly, but not using RCC.

Any plans on enhancing this to support RCC...?

Hi,

I think, this is a great feature.
There is yet one question:

When I change %CommentLine1% to "adress", can I still use the variables in reports? Can I then use %adress% as variable?

No, you should use %CommentLine1% as usually. This way you don't need to rewrite all profiles, templates, scripts...

Now that you have been giving us this new very nice option, is it possible to change the width of the first column that respresents the name..?

It's too small now...
