Local time

Post by papalima »

Hi,

I need to monitor the local time of a server (rma agent running), when there is a difference of 1 minute I would like to see a bad result.

Any idea how to do this?

Regards,
Pascal

You may use NTP test method
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... ts.htm#ntp

If you have NTP server installed on target system, you may compare time provided by NTP server to time on system where HostMonitor is running (target system <-> HostMonitor system). In such case you don't need RMA, HostMonitor may send NTP request directly to target system (unless firewall rejects SNMP requests)
If there is no NTP service installed, you may use RMA to request some public NTP server and compare time provided by NTP server with time on target system (public NTP server <-> target system).

Alex
