Greetings,
I'm using v7.74 with Active RMA. I'm using the Folder / File Availability test to check for files that either don't exist or are older than 1 hour old.
My problem is that when I test servers in other time zones it appears that I need to add their offset to my 1 hour time. Shouldn't the remote agent be using the local time for the test?
In my instance I have servers at time zones: -8,-6,-5,GMT,+1,+3,+5:30,+8,+9,+10 and each one on various forms of Daylight Savings Times at different times of the year. It would be much better for me to have one test to run at each location based on the client time.
Is this a bug, am I'm missing something, or a feature request?
Thanks,
Jeff
Time Zones and Active RMA
That's what I was hoping I'd be able to do myself but was
when I couldn't.
When you're doing this don't forget the fun of Daylight Saving Time rules in each country. With different GMT offsets having different rules per country how would you handle DST?
Sub menu based on the GMT offset chosen? (ie - GMT -3:00 Brasilia,Greenland would have a submenu of (1) NO DST, (2) Observes DST (Brasilia), (3) Observes DST (Argentina)
Manual entry of month and day begins/ends?
Would it be possible that RMA could provide GMT time back to HM and HM would use GMT for any difference testing it did?
I envy the fun you must have with the "wish list" admins can come up with <not!>

There is update at www.ks-soft.net/download/hm775e.zip
Please install version 7.74 before using this update, then replace hostmon.exe, rcc.exe, rma.exe and rma_active.exe with new exe modules. If you have many RMA installed on remote systems, you may use RMA Manager to update all agents at once
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/rma- ... ow_upgrade
