I started some tests today with the RCC. But when I create new items through the Remote Command I start getting popups with the message "unable to write to rcc.ini"
So far I've tried to give everyone write rights to the folder on my machine but it should not matter since the .ini gets updated everytime the RCC is started.
I'm currently running AHM 7.22 and RCC 2.45
What could be causing this and/or what could be done about this?
unable to write to rcc.ini
Yes, could you check "read-only" file attribute?
Regards
Alex
H'm, what exactly means "create new items"? RCC may display such warning when you click "Connect" button or close main window... however it still should be able to connect to HostMonitor. But when I create new items through the Remote Command I start getting popups with the message "unable to write to rcc.ini"
Regards
Alex

One other thing to check. . .
In addition to attributes, if the file is contained on an NTFS partition check your permissions AND ownership of the file (Advanced button on the Security tab). I'm sure other file systems have their quirks as well, but I've personally experienced 'lost' NTFS ownership with the same results before.
A quick & dirty check is to test moving the file to another folder temporarily. If it doesn't work permissions/ownership is a strong candidate.
Frustrating, isn't it? Good luck!

I'm stumped.
Could it have something to do with running AHM as a service? I may be on a completely wrong track, but did you specify a "Log On" account (preferably admin level) for the service to use?
If so, and I assume everything else is working properly, you could check that specific account's effective permissions to rcc.ini.
OH WAIT! What about User profiles? Is there something about the profile you are using to log onto RCC? Have you tried a different User profile to log into.
I'm getting dizzy
