SNMP Installation

Post by mchambers »

Hello,

I'm configuring a Cisco IDS/IPS unit to trap out to Host monitor. I have the agent sucessfully getting OID's from the unit, but these numbers mean very little.

Now I have acquired the MIB files and compiled them into one file with MIB Browser.

How do I install these onto my Hostmonitor Server so that the traps via these agents read english and not just garbled numbers?

If MIB Browser is installed in HostMonitor folder (by default) then you are done. You may use %EnterpriseName%, %EnterpriseNameShort%, %MibName% and %MibNameShort% variables in actions triggered by SNMP Trap test method.
Otherwise you need to copy mibdata.lst and mibtree.lst files into folder where HostMonitor is installed
