rcc with active rma fails

Post by Eggers2 »

Hi Alex,

I think I found something helpfull out with my active rma problem:

I also use the 3.05 beta and recongnized that this version runs perfect the last 6 days.
BUT:
When I start using the rcc (remote console) to add new active clients´THEN AND ONLY THEN the still existing active rma clients lose their connections !!!!!! I can reproduce this !

Also the last times the active RMA Clients lost connection while I was adding new clients through rcc. Maybe it will also happen when I add them at the Hostmonitor concole directly, I did not check that.

BUT definitly it happens when I add a new active client in RCC !!!!

Do you know what this could be?

H'm.. we cannot reproduce the problem so far.
Could you send hostmon.ini and agents.lst to support@ks-soft.net?

Same issue with Active agents.

Post by mchambers »

I'm having the same issue using the 7.14 Beta package. RCC version 2.36.

I have one specific network I've been getting setup with all Active agents, 4 servers total.

All servers are fresh builds running 2003 R2 SP2 and various hardware. The machines are using a Symantec product. Can provide a list of the entire projects hardware if necessary.

Added 3 agents and I have tests running on all of these servers, at least 5 a piece.

When I add new agents via RCC for some reason all of the tests for that network stop working.

I just added another server to active, started it up.. everything was fine. As soon as I created the agent in RCC the whole network went to unknown, all 3 other servers.

It may be a coincidence but another companies active RMA has also gone on error every time I've had this issue.

I'm not using that many Active setups so I cannot say that it is all active clients but it is definantly annoying.

Restarting the server sometimes leads to a hang, doing it through the RMA manager is not always sucessful.

Logging yields only "Connection error: Wrong reply packet received", though I'm certain in the actual console I did see at one time "SERVERNAME is already connected".

Let me know what you need and I'll provide it for troubleshooting.

10 tests p/sec
Conclusion: system is able to perform given tests without significant load
