Readin Scheduled task log file

Post by ltoen »

Hi
I would like to use the Textlog text test on a remote computer with RMA agent. The file is windows file which is located under:
c:\windows\tasks\schedlgu.txt it is hidden but ram finds it. This is where task scheduler adds all failures on its scheduled tasks. I have configured a test to:
Look for a string called 'error' tried with and without quotes
Warn of last new event Display found line

It does not work, if I manually create a file and copy the info it works good but this files is not working.

Copy of some errors:
task failed; therefore, the task did not run. Either an error occurred, or no account information existed for the task.
The specific error is:
0x8004130f: No account information could be found in the Task Scheduler security database for the task indicated.
"Collect Server Performance Data.job" (mssbsssr.exe)
Started 18.10.2007 15:45:00

Hope someone can help

Yes, Text Log test should work with hidden files.

Could you please provide more information?
- What exactly means "does not work"? What is status of the test? Ok, Unknown? Do you see any error message in Reply field of the test item?
- What version of HostMonitor and RMA do you use?
- Windows? Service Pack?
Could you send schedlgu.txt to us (support@ks-soft.net)

Regards

I have pasted in my file as you see by the dates Microsoft puts the data into strange places in the file. The tests can't read this file for some reason, if I make a standard text file it works with no problem. But this files is different. Dont know what microsoft does.

Please send file to support@ks-soft.net
Also, please explain what means "The tests can't read this file for some reason". Does HostMonitor show "Unknown" status and some error message in Reply field of the test? What exactly error do you see in Reply field?
