Recheck dependant test - issue when "Refresh selected i

Post by JuergenF »

Hi Alex and Max,

first of all many thanks for implementing that feature :D

When I do the following:
- mark the master test
- manually "Refresh selected item" using the GUI

When the master test status changes, the dependent tests are not rechecked.

Best regards

We cannot reproduce the problem.
Have you enabled "Recheck dependant test items when master test status has been changed" option?
Could you export test settings into text? Please export master and dependent test items

- Yes "Recheck" is set.
- Consider status of master test obsolete after 30 seconds

Just create some txt-Files in C:\Temp\_HostMonitor\ to get that running.

Do the following:
- Start a fresh HM with the testlist (restart HM)
- Refresh all tests (All test are OK)
within 10 seconds do:
- Rename a.txt to ax.txt
- Mark Test "A"
- Refresh selected item
Only A goes to "Bad". All other tests stay OK until the next regular test interval.
I hope that helps ?!

Note: It's impotant to watch the "Last test time" if that time is (nearly) the same for all tests it may look like it's working. But really it's only the thing that all tests are done at (nearly) the same time by chance.

Are you sure ?
Just try this:
- Start a fresh HM with the testlist (restart HM)
- Refresh all tests (All test are OK)
within 10 seconds do:
- Rename a.txt to ax.txt
- Mark Test "A"
- Refresh selected item
Only A goes to "Bad". All other tests stay OK until the next regular test interval.

EDIT: It doesn't work at all, even when I don't use the "Refresh"

I cannot reproduce problem using version 7.01 (7.00 shows the problem).
Do you see version 7.01 when click Help->About?

Yes

That is very strange.
Do I have to recreate my tests ? Any old things stored in the hml file ?

It even does not work when I wait 1 minute until the "A" test changes without "Refresh". None of the other tests are rechecked before the regular interval.

Are you keeping this in mind ?

- I've exported my tests to txt file
- created new TestList
- imported my tests

Now it seems to work - I'll do some more tests.

Now I have two HML-Files with exactly the same tests.
One is not working at all, the other is working fine :o :o

Are you interested in my hml files ?
