Master test relation

Post by canish »

hi all,
i have a problem that i have 8 login page tests (URL) and i want to do "iisreset" to bad status login page test server as an automized action. whenever the url test goes down for 2 minutes for ex. i want to take "iisreset" action automatically. can this be done by a single test or should i define a separate "iisreset" action for each master url test.

thanx

As I understand, iisreset - is a command line utility "iisreset.exe", right? In this case you may use "Execute external program" action to start "iisreset.exe" when URL test returns "Bad" status: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... htm#actPrg

You may create just one alert profile with "Execute external program" action and assign that profile to each URL test.

Regards,
Max

If you want to monitor 8 servers, you definitely need 8 tests. However you may use the same action profile for all tests. E.g. you may specify parameters specific to each server using Comment field of the test items and setup action using macro variables

PS
Please use "Installation and configuration" forum for such requests.
Use "Problems and bugs" forum when something does not work correctly
