Hello,
In the Options menu and under Miscellaneous I had the checkbox "Use Fixed date&time format" ticked.
"Date format" was yyyy-MM-dd and "Time format" was hh:mm:ss AMPM
I keep my log file saved in text format, but log analyzer told me there was a problem with the date, so when I went to check the log, I saw that am/pm had not been appended to the time.
So I really don't know when things are happening when viewing the log: do they take place in the morning or the evening?
Please help! (I now have "Time format" set to hh:mm:ss)

Re: Time format in log
Please note: you should restart HostMonitor to apply the date & time changes.monitorcsn001 wrote:In the Options menu and under Miscellaneous I had the checkbox "Use Fixed date&time format" ticked.

I think, you should not worry. hh:mm:ss time format represent the time in 24h format (0-23). So, time from 0 to 12 is like AM, from 12 to 23:59 is like PM.monitorcsn001 wrote:So I really don't know when things are happening when viewing the log: do they take place in the morning or the evening? Re: Time format in log
HostMonitor has been restarted several times.KS-Soft Europe wrote: Please note: you should restart HostMonitor to apply the date & time changes.
Unfortunately I only see 1 to 12 and 1 to 12 without AM and PM, so I can't make out which is which...KS-Soft Europe wrote: I think, you should not worry. hh:mm:ss time format represent the time in 24h format (0-23). So, time from 0 to 12 is like AM, from 12 to 23:59 is like PM.

Could you please provide more information?
- What version of HostMonitor do you use?
- What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
- Is HostMonitor started as a service or as an application?
- Have you changed the time format on "Options > "Misc" tab already? If not, could you send the [FixedFormats] section of hostmon.ini file to support@ks-soft.net?
Regards,
Max

Ok, we have installed version 6.10, setup text log and changed date and time format. Everything works just fine.In the Options menu and under Miscellaneous I had the checkbox "Use Fixed date&time format" ticked.
"Date format" was yyyy-MM-dd and "Time format" was hh:mm:ss AMPM

May be you misunderstood meaning of this option? This option tells HostMonitor what time format should be used for NEW records, records that will be added to the log. It does not change format of records that already stored in the file.
In other word, if you start HostMonitor, perform some tests, change time format and execute some more tests, your log file will contain records with different time format. That leads to analyzing problems, Log Analyzer cannot work with such file. You should move, rename or remove the file (or at least remove some incompatible records), then HostMonitor will create new file.
So, if you want to play with date format, its better to use DBF, HTML or ODBC logs. If you want to use text log files, remove current log, setup some date/time format and never change it.
