Convert test reply into Fahrenheit

Post by uglyb0b »

Hi all,

We are getting the temperature of a server room via SNMP from an APC Environmental Monitor. The reply comes back in Celsius. The “bad” condition sends emails that say “Server room xxx temperature now %Reply%.” It would be nice if we could convert the reply into Fahrenheit then send that in email.

I looked at the HMS but didn’t really see the options to do this. I thought about executing a simple vb script but im not sure how to get the converted result back into the email to be sent.

Any ideas?

thanks

Sorry, I don't see how it can be done using current version of HostMonitor.
Probably we can implement some new option, like "calculate reply" ...

We would greatly appreciate this feature as well.

Ideally we would like to be able to do basic math on the reply so that we can convert it into more human readable/understandable values.

With SNMP we really need to be able to convert bytes to Mbytes or Gbytes. The reply doesn't have to have MB or GB, as we would declare this in our test name (such as SERVER: MEMORY: Committed Bytes MB)

There would be many other times this would be incredibly useful.

Thanks!
Andrew
