Hi ,
as the title suggests my Server Service tests fail on DC's after i upgrade them to SP1.
They are working great on member servers with SP1 but not anymore on dc's after upgrade.
Hostmonitor receives an unknown status error 5 ( Access denied) message.
Anybody any idea how to solve it ? the tests didn't change.
Thanks
Bart

The following article describes MOM problems but I think the reason is the same

RegardsThis behavior occurs because the security permissions for remote users have changed in Windows Server 2003 SP1. By default, a remote user may not be able to enumerate or read a list of services when the user connects to a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 with SP1. To work around this problem, add the user accounts that are members of the MOM Administrators group and of the MOM Authors group to the local Administrators group on the Windows Server 2003-based computer.

hi guy's ,
thanks for the KB , i'll do some testing with adding my HM service account to the DC's. The only snag if orsee is that DC's don't have a local admin group but domain admins groups instead. probably it has to be in there then.
Then i can put forward a case to our security department.
I'll let you know how it worked out.
