Could you tell me what feature is creating files with the extension of *.tmp in a temp directory? A sample file name is "ms2033.tmp".
Here is a sample header of the file.

It is creating large files that are filling up the hard drive. I'm not sure what turned this capability on. Is there a way to turn this off?
Thanks
tmp files being created
HM does not create any tmp files. It looks like you specified this file as common log, system log, or private log for some test. Please, check your settings on "Log settings" and "Advanced Log" pages in the options dialog. If you see in this tmp file information about single test, check "use private log" parameter for that test.

I checked the Log setting and advanced log settings. Log settings was set to a specific file and I changed this to each month as of yesterday. It creates a file in a specified place as an htm file.
Advanced log settings, use a different log file for the system log. Again this is in a specified directory as an htm file. Nothing is set to this temp directory or a *.tmp file setting. Whatever is creating these files created 8 files of about 13 to 16 MB each. It definitely looks like some sort of log, as it looks like a lot of test information. But it looks pretty cryptic with lots of control characters. I've included a little bit more data from the log to see if you can pinpoint where else this might be getting generated. I was going to email it to you, but zipped it is still over 2 MB.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

This situation is very perplexing. On this machine Internet Explorer/Browser is not even loaded.
Can't seem to pinpoint what is creating these temp files. I have looked through all the log file settings and nothing is pointing to this directory or file extension.
Something is creating 12 16 MB files a day on this directory. This is pretty consistent.
As the file contents have Hostmonitor data, do you know of what this data looks like that could point me in the right direction?
Thanks,

Original HTML log file looks a little different:
<html>
<head>
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="KS-Soft HostMonitor">
<title>HostMonitor Log</title>
<STYLE TYPE="text/css"><!-- a:hover { color: "#0000FF"; } --> </STYLE>
</head>
Do you have some antivirus installed on your system? May be it checks HTML files for dangerous scripts and creates tmp files?
