Test result filters

Post by Grabarczyka »

Hello
I'm new user of your soft and maybe I'm wrong, but I can't find option of filtering the reuslts of tests. e.g I need to display only bad tests which occuring since yesterday. Is it there implemented such option? If not, are you going to implement it?

Where do you want to see such filter? in the report? in the log? application console?
I assume you are talking about console. No, HostMonitor does not have such filter but you may sort test items by "Status" + "Status changed at" fields. In this case all "Bad" tests will be at top of the list (or bottom if you use descending order) and most recent failed items will be closer to the top.

I would like to filter the console. It must be easy to just hide all "Ok" in the listview?

One negative thing about your solution is that I got several subfolders and if I sort them by Status it sort them by subfolders and not by the root-folder and to find tests that is not Ok i have to use the scrollbar since I got a huge amount of tests.

If you use the KS Web Interface it is very easy to see which tests are in a bad condition in a unified view. You should try it.

Its not very hard task but we need to make some careful changes across module, and it will require long testing to find all side effects.
Tha't why we delayed implementation till "per-folder user permissions" implementation - we plan to implement user permissions on folder level. This way different users will have access to different folders, and we can implement ok/bad filter at the same time

I'd also like to request a FILTER feature in the console.

FILTER by TEST TYPE

e.g. just show DISK SPACE tests for example

FILTER by OK

FILTER by BAD

The ability to filter by test type would be fantastic - I could then select ALL of my disk space tests at once and change the alert profile for all tests in one go. At the moment I'm having to go through each DISK folder for each server.. which is taking a long time.

Thanks
Andrew

I think we implement "filter" and "views" options in the same version. Probably in 6.50...
