Problem sending SMS

Post by dazhallt5 »

Hostmonitor 6.10
Send SMS via Nokia 6210

Hi,

I’m sending an SMS to two I-mate SP5m smartphones and a I-mate K-Jam PDA. The SMS log file says the SMS has been sent. But I’m unable to receive it on the I-mate K-Jam??
I am able to text the K-Jam from the Nokia and the message is received! , have also tried another SIM in the Nokia and and sent a test via Hostmonitor, the message wasn’t received by the K-Jam. So I tried another SIM in the K-Jam and tested and the message was received.

I have got it down to the SIM and Hostmonitor been the issue not any hardware or sending numbers.
The only thing I can think may have caused a problem is by accident ‘msg class = TE (terminal equipment)’ when a test was sent out to this SIM last.
I have spoken to our Service provider and they can not support us as we are using 3rd party to send the SMS.

Any idea’s please?

Cheers Darren

HostMonitor records "SMS has been sent" message into log file after message has been accepted by operator. To check delivery, you may try to insert undocumented option "DeliveryNotification=1" into GSM group of hostmon.ini file. Note: Such option has been developed only for test purposes. Do not forget to restart HostMonitor after changing hostmon.ini.

So, does everithing work fine? Did you figure it out?

The most of mobile phones support message class "Display immediately" and "SIM". We recommend to use those settings. I assume, your devices do not support message class "TE (terminal equipment)".

Cheers Max.

The 'DeliveryNotification=1' showed the message was not delivered, so I got back on the phone with the service provider.

They then found a fault with number!!

Thanks for your time, sorry if the 1st message didn't make much sense.

Cheers Darren
