Options with RCC

Post by grahamr »

Prior to posting this, I fulfilled the following:

Version: 5.92
OS: Windows 2003 Server

-Read the manual
-Searched the forums
-Checked the FAQ section
-Fumbled around on the console cluelessly

:-?

Problem: AM/PM clock is problematic for a 24/7 operation. I changed this on the server under Options | Miscellaneous | Time format to HH:mm:ss. Then, I restarted the service and it showed up properly. Yay! :D

Then, I logged on via the RCC and it still shows AM/PM. :( So, I went under Options | Miscellaneous | Time format using the RCC interface, saved, went to the server and restarted the service. Logged out of the RCC and logged back in again. It still shows AM/PM instead of the 24hr clock.

Changing other things like the color seems to work ok. Whenever I save though, it keeps displaying the msg that the service must be restarted to activate the new date/time settings.

Could this be a bug or am I doing something wrong?

RCC uses regional settings of the system where RCC is started.
You think this is wrong? H'm.. may be you are right and "Fixed date&time" option should override local setting.
I have added suggestion into "to do" list

RCC time behavior

Post by grahamr »

Now I understand. Yes, it would be very helpful if we had an override since some people have no inclination to set their local machines to 24 clock format, but nonetheless expect that from the monitoring system.

I changed my local system to 24 hr clock and that worked fine with the RCC.

My last request would be to add that to the manual, because I didn't find anything about this behavior detailed in there.

Thanks again for your help.

Change the manual? Why? We can change the code. Update available at www.ks-soft.net/download/rcc167.zip
