Hello,
We just found you on the Internet today.
We are looking for a good monitoring tool for our SME customers.
Although it looks like this is the product we are looking for, I do have a question:
What is the actual network load (over the Internet) of this tool?
We are using an ADSL line to connect to our customers (approx. 20 customers). The max. download per month of our ADSL is of 40GByte.
Will this be enough to monitor our customers?
FYI, we have tested GFI Network Monitor and even for 5-6 customers, we used the 40Gbyte in one month time!
Thanks for your answers and best regards,
Francis

Re: Network load when using HM
It is hard to calculate the actual network load in each particular case because it depends on amount of tests, kind of tests, test intervals, etc.datos wrote:What is the actual network load (over the Internet) of this tool?
Anyway, HostMonitor is designed to minimize its own influence on target systems and network. Also HostMonitor offers Remote Monitoring Agents (RMA) - RMA is small application that accepts requests from HostMonitor, performs test (or action) and provides information about test result back to HostMonitor. RMA runs locally on remote system and sends only the test results to the HostMonitor thus decreasing the amount of network traffic.

ADSL line is not much reliable for monitoring purposes, but I think you may try HostMonitor without hesitation.datos wrote:We are using an ADSL line to connect to our customers (approx. 20 customers). Could you provide more information, please?
