SMTP test

Hi,

AHM performed 2 SMTP tests on 2 mail exchanger, but staus was bad when test reply approximately 3000ms (I specified 60sec timeout)
any idea

tests were performed with RMA
AHM V6 on Win 2003 sp1 US

What error do you see in Reply field?

Have you enabled "Perform 'VRFY' test" option?
Have you the same problem, when HostMonitor performs those tests by itself?

no

yes, when reply field was bigger than 3000ms status became bad.
Is AHM compare reply field with timeout value to decide status of test?

"Bad" means server accepts TCP connection and it responds to the commands. However server replies with some error code instead of normal codes 220 or 250
May we access you server for testing?

When I tried to connect to first server, I have recieved message: "421 av2.amenworld.com AMEN ESMTP server temporarly not available". Second server does not accept connection at all. So, "Bad" status is correct.

Yes, I am. I use telnet. Now I have been recieving code 220. It's Ok. I have set SMTP test up, and now it shows "Host is alive" status.
Looks like your network is not much reliable.
