Re: Log Analyser
What OS do you use? Service Pack? Version of Host Monitor? Version of Log Analyzer? Do you use Terminal Server to run Log Analyzer? Do you see any errors? Are there any records in Event Log regarding Log analyzer or Host Monitor? Do you use ODBC logging?y.beyet wrote:If Log Analyser is started, I can't close my session or restart my computer.

If log file on remote server or ODBC source is not accessible it could lead to similar problem. You should try to edit logsman.ini file (located in HostMonitor directory) and clear or delete line with LatestLog token in [LogViewer] section. After that you should start Log Analyzer and load log file again.y.beyet wrote:Log Analyser launched on a remote server, parsing a text file on remote server running under windows 2003 SP1.

We cannot reproduce such behaviour. Or I do not understand the problem. So, you launch Log Analyzer on remote server thru Terminal service client, right? Log file is situated on this remote server or on another one? When LogAnalyzer is launched, you cannot close terminal client session or your computer completely hangs, and you cannot restart your computer, even though Ctr+Alt+Del? Am I right? Have I misunderstood something? Could you explain more clear?
What type of log files do you use? HTML? DBF? Text? Is log file huge now? What does happen if you run LogAnalyzer on same machine where log file is placed? Could you try it?
Could you check, if there are any messages in EventLog regarding HostMonitor or Log Analyzer?
Any information could help slolving your problem.
Regards,
Max

If LogAnalyser is open, I can't close the session or stop the server where LogAnalyser is running, you're OK. it could be launched under a windows XP SP2 ou a windows 2003 standard edition SP1.
when I start to close session, applications stops one after other until LogAnalyser... No message, nothing. The session don't close. Log Analyser don't stop.
I open a text file on a remote computer or on local filesystem, same result.
The text file is about 7MB
In the system Eventlog I have an error ID 1073, Source USER32 under XP and W2K3,

Looks like restart/shutdown problem. So, if you closed LogAnalyzer manually, you will be able to close session? Or LogAnalyzer does not stop even though you close it manually?y.beyet wrote:when I start to close session, applications stops one after other until LogAnalyser... No message, nothing. What Terminal Service Client do you use? mstsc? PcAnywhere? or any oher?
Could you read following article? http://eventid.net/display.asp?eventid= ... 32&phase=1
