PPP Test Problem

Post by jromariz »

Hi Alex,

I´m facing a problem that´s not directly related to HM but woul like your help.

I´ve configured a PPP test to check a remote computer. The problem is:

- When I connect using PPP I get and address in the 10.x.x.x network. Windows then creates a route to 10.0.0.0 netmask 255.0.0.0. This way my local tests to 10.0.0.0 network with mask 255.255.255.0 stop working.

It seems that this Windows behavior is by design. Old Windows NT would allow to create a key on the registry to change this (PriorityBasedOnSubnetowe, but not Windows 2003.

I was thinking about using remote agent to perform this test, but seems it is not capable.

Any help would be great.

Regards,

Jromariz

How about creating static routes to the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx ip's of your local network using another interface instead of the ppp one?

It´s incredible how sometimes we get so involved with a problem that we cannot see how simple the solution can be!

Thanks a lot AntonyP, this was exactly what I needed.
