Solved!

I solved it! I bet you use Internet Explorer objects for URL request test. My hostmon server is placed in a secure DMZ and cannot initiate any internet connection except of set allowed on firewalls (ISA 2004 and Cisco PIX). I found that Microsoft changed default behaviour for checking server certifi...

Sorry, status is really "No answer". [1.11.2005 11:41:36] sslnt.iol.cz HTTPS get No answer URL request I have specified domain admin account on Options->Startup->Service. This is necessary because I have some tests tested by Hostmonitor. And I need to impersonate service running under Loca...

SSL URL request test and W2K3 SP1

Hi, currently we use latest non-beta Hostmon v. 5.38 started as a service under Local System account. We also configured domain account for service impersonation in Hostmon configuration. We applied SP1 on W2K3-based hostmon server yesterday. All test (including tests executed by Hostmon agents in s...

SSL support for Web Service

Hi Alex, I tried to find this topic but it seems nobody needed it. Or it exists and I am absolutely blind. Do you plan to support HTTPS access to the Web Service component? I have to abide with strictly defined network security policies. Unfortunately HTTP plain text passwords do not correspond with...

RMA in DMZ

Oops, of course I mean UNC test. It was a long day :(

Now it works as expected. RMA runs under Domain2\Account2 account, all tests return correct values and I do not have to specify Connect as username and password in every test properties.

Thanks,

Radek

How to configure HM and RMAs in non-trusted domains?

Hi all, HostMon on Server1 runs under Local System account. Server1 is a member server of Domain1. HostMon itself checks other member servers at Domain1. Due to Local System account restrictions I have configured Domain1\Service_account1 under Options\Startup\Service. Works great. But now I have ano...

Unfortunately I use MS Terminal Services. That's why I am interested in second instance. Do I need to restart the service if some settings were changed via second HostMon in application mode? Or does HM service monitor config files changes?

Is it really possible to have one HostMon instance running as a service and modify its settings with other instance = application?

Does the service detect changed settings or do I need to restart the service every time?

Alex, I think the very first HostMonitor setup welcome window is not good. Let's try it with Terminal Services and resolution 800x600. It it too large.

I tried CPU Usage test against 2-CPU Dell PowerEdge 2400. There is a SiteServer Publishing service (crssrv.exe) here. This process hangs sometimes and consumes 100 % of all CPU. Unfortunately HostMonitor returns only 50 % or even less in test response. What's wrong? Another question - would it be po...

Thanks, it works.

BTW what is the advantage of HML Manager? Are there some features which are not in HostMonitor itself? It is a little bit confusing.
