I think this is a bug or else a design oversight. We have HOSTMONITOR installed on our application server and we have configured it to allow 30 remote console connections.
All the users operate through our Terminal Server.
We can only make one connection using RCC. The second user who attempts to connect gets a message that says:-
"HOSTMONITOR RESPONCE: Command is not allowed. Licensed Limit. You may use just 1 RCC."
This problem occurs even though we are using different Operator accounts.
I don't know why we get this error message. We are licenced. We have configured HOSTMONITOR to allow 30 remote connections, yet we can only make one.
I though the problem may stem from the fact that every user of RCC has the same IP address (ie the Terminal Servers IP). Although I don't see why you would want to deliberately prevent this scenerio.
Hostmonitor Version = 5.60 Beta
Multiple RCC connection from single Terminal Server
Its not a bug, HostMonitor shows correct information - you have just 1 RCC license.

Okay. I did look for some such restriction but I could not find it. Perhaps the error message could offer some such URL.When you purchase an Advanced Host Monitor ENTERPRISE edition you will get 1 license for Remote Control Console at no cost. Otherwise the license for RCC and Web&Telnet Service may be purchased for $150. Each additional RCC license costs $100, or you may buy 10 licenses for $500.
Please note: you don't need to have several RCC licenses in order to be able to start RCC on several systems at different times. RCC does not require installation and can be started directly from server. You need additional licenses only when you start several consoles at the same time, so several operators are able to work with HostMonitor at the same time.
Does the licence get added into Hostmonitor inself or the RCC client?
Also can RCC be made to start during Windows Logon using cached operator credentials?
If the credentials are cached in your user profile then it is no less secure than your windows login.
I want our engineers to have hostmonitor running (actually RCC in their task tray) all the time. I want the login to be seamless, otherwise they will skip this task when they are busy and logon while focused on doing something else.
It would make sence to have a checkbox so that the user could elect not to cache the credentials.
