We have a Oracle 10g Server and I'd like to test for the DB using the Oracle Test. Unfortunately I'm a bit a newbie to Oracle.
I used the setup.exe from Oracle and it wants to install about 1GB - do I have to do this? (rather not)
How do I install the oracle client or what files and modifications do I put where so that Host Monitor can perform the test?
Thank you
Oracle 10g Test
Yeah, Oracle Client is pretty big.
To perform Oracle test HostMonitor uses single DLL - OCI.DLL. If you already have Oracle client installed on another system, you may try to copy this DLL to HostMonitor's system. I am not 100% sure it will work, may be Oracle client requires some modifications in registry and so on...

I copied OCI.DLL from the Oracle 10g Installation directly to c:\Programme\Hostmonitor3 (where Hostmonitor resides).
Test Method: check Oracle server
Server (TNS Alias): test.castor.impag.local
Username: a user that can connect to the DB "test"
Password: his/her password
When I "check" the OracleTest it returns "Oracle Error #0:"

MicroOracle Client works with Oracle9. Will work perhaps, with Oracle10g.
