Help Hm agent used to access remote server

Post by wartex »

Hey guys.

I'm having some problems regarding how to make RMA running on a remote locating getting network data from Routers and servers.
How can I make the RMA get data from a server without having an RMA on the server it self.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B9U_b ... UxNcWJ5MEU

as shown here going from SV RMA to SV

Thanks :)

What exactly means "data from a server"? What test method do you use?
What exactly means "some problems"? What is test status? Any error message in Reply field?
HostMonitor version?
RMA version?

Most test methods allows you to specify target host name (or IP address).
Specify server address - that's it.

Usually it does not matter HostMonitor or RMA performs the test - you should provide the same test settings, e.g. target system address, TCP port, SNMP community string or user account for tests like Process, Service, NT Event Log...

The monitoring that we am interested in using is CPU,Memory and storage.
have been using the SNMP GET method.

The problem actually is getting the values or "data" from the server ( win server 2012 ).

when we try to "get value" when creating the test method this error comes RMA 300, time out.

Have been trying to use the OIDs without success using the SNMP GET.

Using version 10.30 HM
agent is 5.30

hope it gives some information.

Please make sure SNMP agent running on the server, firewall does not block SNMP traffic and you are using correct SNMP settings (SNMP version, community, etc).
Also, may be you set too short timeout, please check it as well
