HM disappering and no minimising to tray

Post by lowbug »

Hi, We have a older version of HM (6.54) which works no problems except when you minimise the software it disappears. You can't get it back but it is still running. The net result can be 5 or 6 copies of it running!

Is there a setting - reg edit to fix it? :(

What Windows do you use? Service Pack?
What options have you set on Preferences page in HostMonitor Options dialog?
- Icon in system Tray?
- Animate tray icon when working?
- Change icon when a host dies?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply please see answers in red :)

What Windows do you use? Service Pack? Windows Server 2003 x64 edition - SP2
What options have you set on Preferences page in HostMonitor Options dialog?

Check box is on for the following:-

Icon in the system tray
Animate tray Icon
Change Icon when host dies

- Icon in system Tray? No - the HM icon is not present
- Animate tray icon when working? No icon in tray ( i have seen it before though? )
- Change icon when a host dies? - As above none shown.

I have seen the icon before - with the heartbeat in red but its gone and doesn't show in normal maximised operation?

H'm, strange...
If you disable "Icon in the system tray", you will see HostMonitor task in Windows task bar?

HostMonitor started as application? service?
May be you have some 3rd party software that somehow "optimizes" system tray and lead to such problem?

Is your license valid for this version? Please send your registration name by e-mail (just click HostMonitor menu Help->Support, type "from lowbug" in e-mail body and send it)
