Monitoring Strangely Stopped

Post by SWWMedia »

Following on from this topic Ive made a new topic: http://www.ks-soft.net/cgi-bin/phpBB/vi ... 2809#22809

Monitoring was stopped on ours at some point also...Is there a way of showing (from a log maybe) when monitoring was stopped?

I can see that the monitoring log was updating steadily up to 13:35 on 12/3/09 but then there is a large gap up to 00:00:29 on 13/3/09 then about 4 seconds where lots of log info was added, then a further gap until roughly when I turned back on monitoring at 11.29am 13/3/09

I didnt know monitoring could be turned off, so only reading this topic did I turn it back on

In Options>Startup there are some start/stop options...

Start/Stop mode
Define if program should starts monitoring upon loading or not. There are 3 options:
start after loading
stop after loading
restore last status

Ours was set to "restore last status" ...the PC was restarted at this time, so I would imaging something caused the monitoring to stop/or had been stopped, so the PC was restarted to resolve the issue...because nothing was alerting I would imagine the tech thought all was well and left it.

Strange how the monitoring log, logged some testing at midnight though

Sure. You may take a look at system log file ("View" -> "System Log") and see messages like: "Monitor stopped" or "Monitoring stopped. Operator: some_user".

HostMonitor behaves according to "Options" -> "Startup" settings. So, I assume, someone stop monitoring. Also monitoring could be suspended automatically by "HMS Script" action. Please, ensure there are no "HMS Script" actions that executes HMS script with "StopMonitor" command.
