It looks like you have a HTTP test that will test if a proxy server is functioning, but that test does not appear to work with the remote agents. I wish this test could be preformed from a remote agent. In my case the ISA/Proxy servers are off-site and can not be tested directly from Host-Mon. Ideally I could place a Remote Agent on the remote network and test for an Internet connection through the ISA/Proxy server.
Our nightly backup system occasionally causes our ISA/proxy servers to "hang up" which prevents the end users from being able to access the Internet. I have not been able to find a way to test for this outage with a remote agent installed on the ISA servers, because ISA/Proxy server internet access locally does not pass through the proxy services. Also the issue does not produce any error messages or stop any services.
This is a 24/7 hospital and when the internet is down they can't get to critical functions and of course the backup runs in the middle of the night which means a 2:00am support phone call. If I could test for this issue I could automatically restart the services and/or reboot the server automatically.
Wish Remote Agent had HTTP test ability
We plan to implement HTTP test for RMA, task has medium priority.
On the other hand, you may use RMA and URL test to check proxy server right now. The only difference - you will be able to check 1 proxy per agent. RMA_CFG utility allows you to setup proxy server that should be used by agent.
