UNC Port

Post by riddick »

HI I want to check free disk Space on our local server. The server is protected by a Firewall. I get an "OK-status" if i disable the firewall, but this is not really in my opinion.
On which port UNC is running, so that i can configure my firewall just to pass unc-check?

Depends on network protocol that you are using.

E.g. NetBIOS uses 4 ports:
- 137 UDP NETBIOS Name Service
- 137 TCP NETBIOS Name Service
- 138 TCP NETBIOS Datagram Service
- 139 TCP NETBIOS Session Service
Direct hosted "NetBIOS-less" SMB traffic uses 2 ports
- 445 UDP
- 445 TCP

Lol, there goes the advantage of a firewall :-)

Opening these ports for public access, is the same as trowing your server on the internet.
If you really want to firewall your server, and you need AHM to access it, I would recommend to us the RemoteAgent...
Or if you don't want to use RMA, limit the access to your server only to the server that is running AHM.
