I have a small problem, Oracle 8 or 9 service on a Windows 2000 server often hangs at server startup, it just remains in "Starting" mode, can I check if a service is in status: "Starting" ?
HostMonitor does not check status of the service because often "started" services do not work properly. Instead HostMonitor sends CONTROL_INTERROGATE command to the service.
Does Oracle service responds to the requests when it hangs in Starting mode?
And if if does not work properly, what status do you see in HostMonitor?
