All questions related to installations, configurations and maintenance of Advanced Host Monitor (including additional tools such as RMA for Windows, RMA Manager, Web Servie, RCC).
I setup the RMA on a server in a remote branch. I first had issues with it until I set the service account to use the same account HM was set to use. I changed all of the montoring for that branch to use the agent and things were fine. Now all of a sudden none of the tests get a response. I stopped the service and ran it locally and the agent shows a connection but HM has no response. I restarted everything and it was going well now a few hours later the alerts started again and they are timing out.
"No answer"?
It means HostMonitor successfully sent request to the agent and received responce from agent. "No answer" means agent did not receive responce from target system.
What test method do you use?
I have a variety but the ones turned on now are ping only. The agent is on a server in the same vlan as the items it is testing. I also restarted the service and still no luck.
Yes they do in fact if I change the test to go back and use Hostmonitor it responds alive right away. I have been running these tests for well over a year just without the RMA and have had no issues. I installed the RMA to get better results over the WAN but seem to be having an issue. For some reason the agent is not getting the response like you said? The system is talking to the RMA but?
Maybe I am missunderstanding the use of the agent??? I want to and thought that I could load one RMA in a branch accross the WAN and test everything in that branch like routers, switches, servers, volume size and so on. Is it meant to only test the server it is loaded on in the remote site?
I found the issue. Someone put another IP on that server and looks like it was a routing issue. not sure why it worked when it started and then died. Sorry for all of the threads.
My confidence is restored again and we do love the product.
