Telnet connection close

Telnet connection close

I have hostmonitor and it test telnet to my mail server (telnet mail 25). Sometimes, it don´t work well, and the connection close, with test fail. But, if I test telnet to other server, it work well. I restart the server and telnet to mail server work well again. (OS: Win XP)

Not sure I understand the problem...
Does "Telnet" mean "TCP test method"?
Also what server did you restart? Server where HostMonitor is running? Or system when mail server is running?

The hostmon Server (TCP method). The hostmon Server test my mail server (telnet). One time per day, the test don't work well, I test telnet (prompt) and the telnet connection is closed.

So, "TCP" test and telnet connection fail at the same time. Right?
Sounds like HostMonitor works correctly but there is some problem with mail server.

No, the mail server no have problem, because I try do telnet in other machine and it work well. Just don't work well in hostmonitor server. I restart it and telnet work well again.

The test work well all day, but sometimes it don't work well (BAD). In this time, none e-mail alert work. So, I restart the hostmon server and everything work well!!

I have other hostmonitor server (just for test) and everything work well. I don't know if the problem is in Windows or Hostmonitor.

Ok, now I understand the problem.
I assume you have installed some antivirus monitor? Norton Antivirus or McAfee? These programs lead to such problem
