So if %REPLY% contains %HTMLBR%, is the %HTMLBR% translated ?

If %HTMLBR% is existent user defined variable, then yes.
PS: could find your quote in the manual on the site...
I said "quote from FUTURE manual".
I provided this update just for you. Official release is not available yet. As you can see latest offical version is 4.80.
