User Profiles

Post by ericm »

We use roaming profiles for over 500 users. What I want to do is monitor the profiles on the file server so when they reach a size limit we are notified. Is ther an easy way of doing this.

Example:
\\server1\users\user1\wtsrv\ntuser.dat\apllicationdata\icaclient\cache
\\server1\users\user2\wtsrv\ntuser.dat\apllicationdata\icaclient\cache
\\server1\users\user3\wtsrv\ntuser.dat\apllicationdata\icaclient\cache

Lets say in this example I want to monitor the cache dir to alert when it gets over 10 meg. Is there an easy way to setup a template test and copy it for each user directory or will I have to create each test seperately. I am thinking if I create a txt file of just the user names I can use the replicator tool and use the username variable as the critera but want to make sure I am on the right path since I will be setting this up on many different servers totaling about 1500 users.

Yes, Replicator was created for this purpose.
If you create test for \\server1\users\user1\wtsrv\ntuser.dat\apllicationdata\icaclient\cache directory, you can replicate by "user1" name. Please make sure name of the test (or name of the folder) contains "user1" string as well. In this case Replicator will create tests with unique name.
