Changing 'Service' from HM3 to HM4

Post by trevorwise »

Hi

I just upgraded my license from HM3 to HM4.
When performing the install, I made a copy of my entire Hostmonitor3 directory and renamed it "Hostmonitor4". Then I ran the install in "Uprade" mode. Everything seems to be o.k. except one noticeable problem: The properties of the service still points to the Hostmonitor3 directory for the executable. The property to change it is grayed out; I'm sure it's a simple registry fix, but I don't know where to go to make the change. Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

BTW - When I try to re-run using "Hostmon.exe /InstallService" I get an error saying it's already installed. If someone can instruct me on how to remove the service, I'm sure re-running it from the proper directory will also fix it. - Thnx

Its simple (but I think we forgot to describe this part in the manual). Just run 2 commands
1) "HostMonitor /UninstallService"
2) "HostMonitor /InstallService"

1st command can be executed from old or new HostMonitor's directory. 2nd command should be executed from new HostMonitor's directory

Regards
