How to monitor keyword into the log file.

Post by devangaro »

Hi All,

I want to monitor log files of current date in a directory. An alert should be triggered in case keyword Error is present in those log files. So, please suggest me how I can monitor it.

Thanks & Regards,
Devang

Compare Files test method supports %newestfile% macro
http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... tm#filecmp

If this does not work for you, please provide details.
E.g.
- how exactly looks path/filename
- do you need to start 2nd, 3rd alert if keyword "Error" will be added to the log several times

path/dynamic file name .

Tool should monitor the log files of the current date consisting of keyword Error . This should be checked through a single check

I understand this but there are 100 different ways to make dynamic file name.

Then my 1st answer should work - use Compare Files test method and %newestfile% macro
