Hello
I currently have a process that writes out a massive amount of files to a dedicated storage device and we have a test in Host Monitor setup to alert us when the free space on the Volume is below 500GB. At that point we use another tool to show the path and sub directory of where the files reside (which could be in multiple sub directories) and then have to manually delete the oldest files till we get above the 500GB threshold.
What I would like to do is to have an action kick off that will parse the volume and all its sub directories and delete the oldest files with a specific extension (*.Tif) till the the free space on the volume is above the threshold.
I'm not a programmer by any means and was wondering if anyone has a script or an application that I can use to accomplish deleting oldest files till the free space is above the threshold. I have been scouring the internet and have only found some scripts that will delete folders, which I don't want to delete, just the files of a specific extension.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Don
