"501 5.5.4 Invalid Address" means you have to specify proper sender address into "From" inputbox in "Action Properties" window for "Send email" action: http://www.ks-soft.net/hostmon.eng/mfra ... m#actEMail

Thanks for the quick response.
I don't think is has something to do with the proper sender address "From" inputbox. because when we the alert is sent to a company e-mail address it is being succesfully sent and received by the intended recipient. But when we put in a public email address like gmail or yahoo. the error appears.
Can you suggest any alternative solutions.

Solution? First we should find the reason. Can you suggest any alternative solutions.
What exactly parameters of the action do you use?
Various mail servers may apply various rules. If your mail server accepts some addresses, this does not mean another server must accept the same recepient or sender address. And vice versa: the same mail server may accept some addresses and reject other.
If you are not sure how your mail server was setup, ask network administrator.

Well, as you see mail server does not accept the mail. Why? You should ask person that setup this mail server. We don't know what rules where applied on YOUR mail server.[10/29/2008 6:48:49 PM] Mail Error #550 (550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for xxxx@yahoo.com)
Are you using exactly the same server, login, password, sender and recepient address when you are using Exchange?this is what i get when sending to a public e-mail address. Mail servers is working fine we can successfully send and receive our e-mail via Exchange.
